Luxury self-catering accommodation in Cumbria’s beautiful Eden Valley
Park House is situated in the grounds of Skirwith Abbey, a family owned and run Estate. Park House sits next to Skirwith Abbey which dates back to the 1750's and is Georgian in appearance. Skirwith Abbey was taken over by the Johnston family over 40 years ago and has been brought back to the way you see it is today and is very much a family home.
Park House nestles in the beautiful Eden valley, providing spacious holiday accommodation, whilst being surrounded by fantastic views of the Pennines and the Lake District. The property itself has uninterrupted views of the surrounding parkland where livestock roam depending on the time of year.
Vaulted ceilings and exposed beams upstairs. Fantastic views of the Pennines and Lake District. Uninterrupted views of the surrounding parkland where livestock roam at certain times of the year (for example cows and horses). Wherever cows and horses are, guests are not permitted for their own safety.
Please note that internet access is offered at this property for recreational purposes only and is not meant for business use. Speed/service may vary depending on the package obtained by the owner which is provided to guests free of charge. Should guests experience difficulties or loss of use, the owner will not be held responsible.

Very impressed with the house, in fact it’s the best Rural Retreats house we have stayed in so far!
We had a great weekend. Lots of walking –even went on the Ullswater Steamer. We had the whole range of winter weather- wind, rain, sun & snow. Had a great meal at the Black Swan in Culgaith. Thank you.
Superb accommodation, Park House surpassed expectations! This attractive spacious house, with fabulous views and even room outside to kick a rugby ball gave us all time to chill and relax.
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed visiting this part of the country and would highly recommend eating at the Black Swan Inn at Culgaith – the Baked Alaska was fantastic!
Large, luxurious house in a beautiful setting. We’ve had a lovely holiday. Thank you. Particularly enjoyed scenery on way to Keswick and the town of Keswick itself idyllic.
Beautifully decorated house, would definitely like to return.
Wow this house is amazing! We’ve been up Crossfell, Catbells & High Street. It was great to have Robyn and Harvey to play with and Sally the dog as company.
We’ll certainly be back.
We had a great time, thank you. A lovely house, very relaxing and good-feeling. We enjoyed the walks, the quiet, the open fires, the views.
We had a wonderful week despite the rain. Good food at the Black Swan, great steamer trip on Ullswater and the train to settle. Anne & Chris are great hosts.
What a fabulous week! The house was superb and surpassed its description. An ideal place to spend a family holiday. Everything was just right.
Tip – take the train to Settle from Langwathby it’s a beautiful trip.
A very white Christmas, a winter wonderland. We had a great time here celebrating a family Christmas. Loved Park House and lovely scenery. Our thanks to Anne & Chris.
We came to relax in a luxurious and well equipped house in a peaceful and beautiful setting and that’s exactly what we got. We loved the fresh flowers, the quality of the welcome hamper and the thoughtful provisions for the 5 month old twins.
